To make your journey as smooth as possible, we recommend arriving in Kaohsiung 2–3 days before the wedding. This gives you time to acclimate and enjoy the city.
First check visa requirements in case you need one and apply in advance.
Along with your elegant suit or dress, be sure to bring comfortable sneakers, sandals, and a swimsuit to enjoy the local activities!
Airlines with reliable flights from Europe to Taiwan: Cathay Pacific, Turkish Airlines, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, and Swiss Air (via Hong Kong or Bangkok)
The easiest arrival airport is Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH), but flights to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) are also common
From Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), take the metro to Taoyuan High-Speed Rail (HSR) station
Then take a southbound HSR train to Zuoying Station in northern Kaohsiung (journey about 1.5 hours)
Recommended attractions in Taipei: National Palace museum, Presidential Palace tour (9-12h, Mon-Fri), Changing of the Guards ceremony at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall (taking place every hour between 9-17h, on the hour), Dadaocheng neighborhood and Dihua Street area, Taipei 101 ...
If renting a car before or after the wedding, bring an "International" Driving Permit. You will not be allowed to rent or drive in Taiwan without an international license.
During the stay in Kaohsiung renting a car is not necessary. The public transport is excellent (take metro, tramway or taxi).
We recommend buying a local SIM card at the airport for convenient mobile internet and calls.
