Explore Kaohsiung harbor Pier 2 area, take a ferry to Cijin Island (ancient rampart, lighthouse, harbor views; surfing and biking possible)
Discover Yancheng district near Metro Yanchengpu Station: tasty wontons, tea shops, mochi... and explore the public market
Visit Lotus Pond with pagoda and café (waterskiing possible) (northern Kaohsiung, closer to the HSR)
